WINGS  Sailing the Great Barrier Reef
More about the boats:
All the boats were built in Kaohsiong, Taiwan. The USCG Certificate of Documentation list the Gross as 22 tons; Net as 20 tons; Length as 47.1; and Breath as 14.3
As near as I can tell, there were 4 built, plus one other built by a NY firm and supervised by ABS. The original 4 have (had) vertical Maxwell-Nielson windless.
While the hull numbers are confusing, the original names run something like this:
“Capricorn Dancer III”; sold in Honk Kong to an American
“Waldo Pepper” which I renamed “Wings”
“Capricorn Dancer IV”; became “Erandil”; then went to a new owner.
“Tri Star”; later “Loco Motion” later “Zepher” now in Sydney
I tried to track via the USCG, a boat called "Polaris" that was sold in Ft. Lauderdale around 1999. It had a USCG # 1045812, and a hull # FJB 481061285.
There are rumors there may be one in Spain, and another in Friesland Martijn, Netherlands named "Happy Medicine". There are not enough boats for all these to be true! If you have some new information, please let us know! Thanks! Terry
